Affordable Skiing: Aspen

...One of the most nostalgic is the St. Moritz Lodge, which, as the name suggests, looks like an Americanized version of a Swiss Chalet, with knotty gray walls and bright blue trim.  The lodge has 36 rooms: the cheapest, a hostel-style room with three twin beds and a shared bath, starts at $39.  Private rooms with double beds, flat-screen TV and private bathrooms start at $99.  There is also a small white tiled steam room and outdoor heated pool with Jacuzzi jets that is surrounded by purple plum trees and a killer view.

When We Walked in at 8 P.m. On Friday, a Random Assortment of International Travelers (From Japan, Argentina and Australia) Sat Around the Coffee Table Drinking Bottled Beer and Eating Steak They Had Cooked on the Grill Outside. When I Checked in and Told the Man in the Office I Didn't Have a Credit Card Because My Wallet Had Been Stolen the Week Before, He Shrugged and Said, "Bummer," and Gave Me the Keys to Our Room.
